National Park Plitvice  is one of the most beautiful natural places in Croatia. Due to its natural beauty and significance, this system of 16 interlinked lakes and a large forest complex around it were set aside as a national park in 1949. In 1979 the park was inscribed on the prestigious UNESCO World Heritage List.

Besides many waterfalls, this national park is famous for its caves and flower meadows.Special attractions at Plitvice include: Veliki Splat- a 100 ft waterfall surrounded by nearby boulders to which tourists have access, Kozjak- the biggest and the deepest lake in the park and Prošćansko lake.
According to a legend, many years before, people who lived in this area faced a terrible drought. In their desperation they started to pray to Black Queen hoping she would send rain and help them. Queen took pity on them and sent them strong rain which formed Prošćansko Lake.

There is also a large waterfall complex that can be accessed via a cave in the surrounding rock face.Lakes are divided into the 12 Upper Lakes (Gornja jezera) and 4 Lower Lakes (Donja jezera).Explore with us this magical site and enjoy in untouched nature's richness.
